As far as he master cylinder, I hear that people have used a 65-67 Mustang for drum/drum brakes.. I don't know if it's sized right or not. I think it only uses two of the four bolts that are on a 54 - be sure to put bolts in the two empty hole as they hold the brace inside.

What markings are you looking for?
An original may not have been marked 6 volt since there wasn't a 12 volt choice in '54.
Or, if it had a printed label on top it may have faded away.

The terminals might be marked directly on the screw lugs? Example photo...

Your 1955 FORD has been converted to 12V ? Am I reading this correctly?

Are you describing a 1954 or 1955 FORD?

Shown is a period decorated 1956/ 12V VR -

Make sure you read the pin-out correctly -

Paul is correct. You want the MC he described. It has to be DRUM/DRUM and you need to know if it has internal RESIDUAL PRESSURE VALVES or you have to add external valves.

Is the car manual brakes or power?

65/66 Mustangs were still single cylinder masters, you will need to look for 67/68 for dual master cylinders.

Your VR appears to have a decal installed. Those are available for restorations. It (VR) may be aftermarket. Don't worry about polarization as you can do this later.

You are going to need a WIRING SCHEMATIC for the car for both the VR HARNESS and the lighting problem.

Which car is being discussed, a 54 or 55? Do you have shop manuals?
