Default Spring Clamp

any thoughts on the originality of these spring clamps? May be a "T" item but fits "A" spring (front and rear) nicely. Early "A"?

Charles,

Both sets of my Ford script springs don't have them. In the photo the nut(I think)
is incorrect. What does the " dimple " on the top of the clamp look like?

my spring leaves are also script (didn't think to take photos while i had them apart) .. don't recall where i got these clamps ... i suspect they are repros but i dont see them in any of the A/T vendor sites.

i have one set of correct bolts/nuts but need another as well as needing 4 correct clamps (some had small script on top ... not seen)

Charles, those look like repops. Easy way to tell. If original script clamps the dimple on top will be round. The repops have a tab. Rod

Later Ford production parts tended to be Ford script as they were having problems third party parts being put on the cars.
I got a real nice front spring with minimal wear and they were clearly later production and Ford script just like the ones you have. I switched them with some production clamps.

The spring shackles are another example of the Ford script on later parts. For a long time people thought that one type of Ford script shackles were late production. A couple of years ago drawings were found that proved they were after A production.

The spring clamps on my late 31 sport coupe were rivited, not bolted. I assumed they were factory originals. I rebuilt the springs with bolts and nuts in the clamps. It's going to be a driver.
