The right tools to carry
For 53 years I have carried the same 6 inch Crescent wrench, 420 Channel-Loc's and not the same but flat screwdriver. I've fixed almost every problem that came along on anything from a Model T to vehicles as late as the 80's. I drive the 31 roadster pickup a lot on trips up to 200 miles one way. Just wondering if I should throw in a few more tools. What do you other Model Aer's carry for normal troubles?

Have you ever come home on a rope, tow bar, or flatbed?

Re: The right tools to carry
Honestly I never have been towed all the way home on a chain. Once when I was a kid I had point trouble on a Model A strip down and put the rotor bug in my shirt pocket and forgot to put it back in after the adjustment. Needless to say I cranked on it till I think the water boiled and still didn't start it. A man came along in a pickup and pulled me for almost a half mile before I discovered it in my shirt pocket. I managed to get him stopped and told him to go on I'd just have to work on it some more. I put the rotor back in and passed him down the road.

I've never needed more than a few basic hand tools such as came in the original tool kit. |
