Angry Touch up paint

During my engine re-install I manged to scratch the shiney black paint on the fender and there are a few chips and scratches on the body. I do not know what kind of paint is on the car.

The fenders are black and the body supposedly is Hessian (sp) blue and the trim is Lombard blue. I received the blue paint chips from MAFAC and when held against the body they are not that close.

Any thoughts about touch up will be greatly appreciated.

thanks, Burt

Many body shops have a special color match camera that is used to take a "picture" of the paint on the car, then produce a paint code to match.

Took our Tudor to 2 different shops to get the color match correct. Second shop did so perfectly. Our Chickle/Copra colors were applied 40 years ago and have faded a bit and no longer match the book, so was in the same situation as you. The color match camera was the solution.

Take a trip to the cosmetic aisle and browse through the nail polish section.
Amazing array of colors and you can mix to suit and get the best match. This trick has worked on everything from Harleys to Model A's and its a relatively cheap way to do some touch ups.
Cheers!
