55-56 Bell Housing Question
I have a bell housing and flywheel cover for a 1955-1956 F-100. The bell housing has a Ford Number TBAA-7505-A. Both are in good condition and I am curious if there is any interest in them. I believe the bell housing is factory drilled to accept a 223 6 cylinder engine or a Y-Block V-8 engine. Any interest or comments will be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: 55-56 Bell Housing Question
The truck bellhousings are different from the car bellhousings because the trucks have mounting tabs cast into the lower sides of the bellhousing for mounting to the frame whereas the cars do not have those tabs.
Since the trucks are very popular now I would recommend trying to peddle them in the swapmeet on this site and/or put em on epay. |

Re: 55-56 Bell Housing Question
the easiest way to tell a 6 bell from an 8 is to measure the distance between the 2 top bolt holes.5.5 for the 6 cyl and 7.5 for v8.

But the bellhousing, converter and flexplate are engine specific. the V8 bellhousing cannot be swapped with a 6-cyl and vice-versa. |
