Re: dumb question
JD
The knob might have an allen setscrew to hold it on. Bruce

Re: dumb question
I checked the knob I dont feel or see any screw or hole, if I knew it screwed off I would force the issue, maybe put a little heat on it from a heat gun and try to unscrew it. John

Re: dumb question
Don't heat it. Heat will melt it.

Re: dumb question
I would take another look at the knob - Almost sure there is an allen screw or a reg. screw to hold it on.

Re: dumb question
Hi Everyone, I don't mean to be a buzzkill, but many times when I have something I want to examine I take photos of it so I can look with leisure, and zoom in. An example is the back of my TV and the back of my cable box, and the back of my AV amp. I shoot photos then plan a course of action.
When I couldn't figure how to make the glove box door latch fit in the slot of the dash on our '36 I used the camera to help. -VT/JeffH |

Re: dumb question
You need to find google or E-bay as you can usually find a pic which is faster than tan most forums. This is on E-bay & looks like it just screws off. |

Re: dumb question
If this helps you can try it..I turned the one on my cig lighter off counter clock wise and put it back on no problem ..The others did not seem to want to come but maybe if you held the shaft with a vise grip and did not get to vicious maybe..Dont break it...Good luck

Re: dumb question
Sorry I can't offer a good answer, but I have found that Ford has at least three different knobs in the same dash. Some threaded, some with set-screws, some pull-off.

Re: dumb question
It screws off a gentleman from a earlier post suggested that I hold the shaft with a pair of visegrips, did that used a pair pliers with some cloth under it on the knob , screwed right off. Thanks to. John
