12v upgrade questions on a 40 ford
Ordered most of the original wiring since car is mostly kept original. It also has a 90amp alt and a heat exchanger along with a new 12v wiper motor. Should i go with a new fuse panel or what are some ideas to look at?

The original "fuse" panel on a 40 consist of two circuit breakers that are only used on the lighting circuits. If you are wanting a fuse panel it would be an addition to the original wiring. The original looks something like this (not sure this is a 40, but it is similar).

You have a large enough alt. for many loads, what I see you adding are a 12 volt wiper motor, turn signals down the road, a mustang or any ford 6 volt gauge regulator, you will need to make up a dropping resistor for the voltmeter to read accurately so you are only adding a couple of new circuits if you stay stock.

Thanks JSeery for the pic. I do have the original circuit breaker but just wasnt sure about using it with wiper and new alt. upgrades. The heat exchange fan is what im really not sure about on how or what it is wired to. Never seen one on another car

Re: 12v upgrade questions on a 40 ford
I would not use the existing CBs for anything other than the lighting functions. If it was me, I would add a separate fuse panel for added functions. Small several function fuse panels are fairly small and not expensive. Depending on what you are attempting to achieve you can also come up with a period style fuse panel that does not add the modern look, something like this.
