MAFCA Phaeton SIG Inactive - Interest to restart it?
I spoke with Jim Cannon, who did some research on the status of the Standard Phaeton SIG. It turns out that the group is inactive. Is there enough interest in restarting it? There is a Facebook Phaeton group. Is that sufficient? What are people's thoughts?
If there is enough interest, for those who are going to the MAFCA national convention, we could call an impromptu meeting and discuss its future. Following the meeting, we could report back to the Barn members what happened. |

Re: MAFCA Phaeton SIG Inactive - Interest to restart it?
In my honest opinion, it takes someone who has restored several Phaetons to be the administrator of a SIG. The reason is you must have fresh content to post every few days to keep people coming back and making comments. People today are too busy for just stopping in unless it is a strong passion of theirs. My suggestion if you are adamant about reviving it is to make up a series of topical posts and try to get how-to info posted. There is a couple of Model-A pages on Facebook that were so boring with misinformation and non-related posts, that no one who knows the correct answer stops by any longer.

Re: MAFCA Phaeton SIG Inactive - Interest to restart it?
Brent,
I agree. I am interested in seeing it restarted for selfish reasons. Not to spearhead it myself, but to benefit from others' expertise. I am willing to help, but I don't have knowledge or experience to do it myself. I know there are a lot of people out there who have those skills, if they have the time and desire. I'm not interested in starting another Facebook page, since there is already one devoted to Phaetons. I was thinking more along the lines of a quarterly publication. |

Davey,
You are right. A SIG is the acronym for Special Interest Group. There are currently special interest groups for various body styles in both MAFCA and MARC. |
