Default Seat back on 1956 Tbird came disconnected from bottom seat

While working on the soft top, I noticed the seat back was not connected to the bottom seat. I found a broken shaft or stud nearby and figured that was the culprit. I couldn’t find any such parts or images on how the seat is put together in any of the parts catalogs or the shop manual I have.

Can anyone confirm the stud in the picture is what holds the seat back to the bottom seat? Is it just a stud that a hole in the seat back slips over? Any idea where to get a part like this or something I could use in place of it?
