Default So the lady that we bought our Model A from died...

These pictures were found. These were taken literally right before it was shipped from Cali to MI in 1968... The family is passing me stuff as they find it. I even have the plates shown in the picture.

The Chrysler in the background is a sad story, in these pictures it looks almost showroom. It was all patina when it was pulled out of the barn as well.

Big difference to 40 years in a barn later.... I have to figure out the puzzle now I have yet to touch it even a year later, just no time yet.

Nice car, looks like you got a good start on it. You need more time to work on it....

I agree leave the trunk! But it's your ride, a fine project indeed.

Speaking of the trunk. Can a car with just a trunk like this on be converted to a rumble seat type car???

Yes, by all means, keep the trunk. Looks like someone put 30/31 wheels on your 28/29 car!

Her uncle, the original owner did. He liked them better. The plan is for the trunk to stay, I plan to get the car back to the condition it was in the picture and drive it.

It was kind of nice, as the picture answered some questions for me. I had been hunting around the falling down barn for the other wind wing. The picture told me this car either only ever had one, or the passenger side one was broken/lost long before it came to Michigan. It also told me that it wasn't much worse for wear then when it went in the barn over 40 years ago, aside from some fairly minor stuff overall. The car was dismantled because the guy wanted to do a full restoration, however he was the type that didn't finish anything he started.

Great looking car. I would also leave the trunk. You don't see many that way, most have been converted to a rumble seat during restoration. Rumble seats are not very safe, especially for grand kids. The trunk also offers more space to put suit cases when traveling on a tour.

I have a rumble seat and I just take the cushoins out and leave them at home. Now I have the same room as a trunk and I can still sit people back there if need be.

rumble seats appeal to the romantic imagery until someone rides in one. Trunks are practical. I would restore the running gear and leave the car as is.

I know several people who are looking for or have bought a sedan to get the storage their rumble seat coup lacks for tours. Also know some who have gone the other way to a coup because they like the peppy performance. It seems the ideal pair to own is a coup and a sedan. I would also like a coup with trunk to go with my Fordor.

I would say the ideal pair to own is a cabriolet and a sedan.

A cabriolet is a coupe in bad weather, and a roadster in good weather!
