More info please. How complete is your short block? Year and price would help.
Thanks

That bit about the plastic/wax protector doesn't sound like something that would be done to a Model T engine. If it is wrapped in plastic it should be removes and check for rust. You would only have to remove the wrap from the over the drivers side water inlet. The number if it's the original to the block should tell us what year. How about posting a photo?

I wonder what you have if you talk about it being in wrap.In the past I have seen ""rebuilt short blocks"" that were really just taken out of a car cleaned up and wrapped up.

What was done and what about a few pictures so we could be sure of what we are buying?

Yes, working on the pictures..... I may have to drive down and take them for my father. Patience please.

It is the wax/grease paper, not plastic.

Is the serial number stamped into the block by the water inlet, is that what I found? If you guys have a better description as to where to find the Serial Number I would much appreciate.

The serial number of this ready to go rebuild is 11,849,710.

According to the charts I have found puts it in April 1916.

Well, I guess I'll just have to rebuild the '27 engine since a price can't be given on the May 27, 1925 block. Or, maybe it's time to bring all the T stuff to Farmington in June. Decisions, decisions. Freeing up some space sounds good right now.

why do people come on these forums and totally ignore other people when questions are asked? This guy says he wants to sell an engine but refuses to show pictures or even more important tell us the price. Is this a give away or are you trying to sell the thing?

Garrisom:
I totally agree with you . If you want to sell you should have a proce in mind before you ever strike a first letter in the post

The fellow whom has the Block for sale get inthe program and post a price for all to see.

Sorry, I am not sure what is wrong but I have not been getting any notices from this post.

As stated this is a serial number of 11,849,710. According to the charts I have found puts it in April 1916. Someone else said a different date.
1916 Start# End#
Mar 1119004 1169023
Apr 1169024 1219573
May 1219574 1273413

http://www.mtfca.com/encyclo/sernos.htm

So if you have different info and think it is not April 1916 ????,,,,, it is what it is for the serial number taken from the block as stated above.

Price--- was trying to find out what is good without giving it away and taking a beating and was told $1000-1500. Thinking if that is the case to pass along at $800 plus freight from Iowa. Or best offer. We do not have a Model T to put it in so it has to go.

Sorry again if I do not get notices on the posts. Send me an instant message. Those seem to get through.

Thank you.

You are right. My BAD! Cant read straight when they do not put in commas in the chart. Guess I need to get stronger glasses.
Sorry everyone!!! Let me know if I still have it messed up.

11,849,710 on the short block.

River Rouge Plant
1925 May
Start# 11,668,648
End# 11,869,207

And as stated, make me an offer if you feel my father is too high.

Was asked about the bore size. It was redone at 30 over based on what is stamped in piston.

Will get other pics posted when Dad sends them to me.

This is a 'short block' so would not have the head or pan, manifolds etc. Dad does have some extra parts also, but don't believe there is a head in there. Mostly pedals and misc body items.
