Vintage, your "North American" ignores the many parts of the Ford world that relies on parts and assemblies, as well as complete automobiles that were manufactured in North America for export. Then there's also the "Never Say Never" factor to consider.
This forum and website has been around for a long time and we thought it had performed very well up till now. Perhaps you might consider starting your own website to take up its perceived deficiencies?

Even if the argument had merit, it'd be pointless since the Fordbarn runs on auto-pilot and Ryan isn't going to be making any changes to it.

Heck, the post on the main page is from 2017!

Spotlight on Ford of France

Matford.jpg

FordVedette1.jpg

FordVedette2.jpg

SUMB.jpg

Ford of France started by assembling Model Ts and then Model As and then Model Ys.
Ford collaborated with Mathis to produce Matfords which looked something like a scaled down 1937 Lincoln Zephyr and had V8 60s and full size flatheads.
After the war they made cars that looked like scaled down Mercurys with V8 60s and some that were like full size Mercurys with full size V8s.
They made other cars with V8 60s and full size V8s that looked like American cars of the era.
Simca bought Ford France in 1954, and that included the flathead engine. Simca kept making cars with V8 60s and full size flatheads.Simca opened a factory in Brazil where they made V8 60s. Simca made flathead cars in France until about 1961 and in Brazil until 1964.
Simca made the SUMB which was a French military vehicle with a flathead. They made flatheads until about 1990.

Occasionally, people ask questions about European Fords on Fordbarn and they do not get good answers because it is considered oddball and almost off topic. All of these vehicles would be the main focus of the new forum, and we could go into a lot more detail on all of them. One more forum would give Fordbarn complete global coverage of the Ford Flathead.

Many years ago, at the Turlock, California swap meet someone had a European model "Y" type roadster for sale. It was missing the deck lid. I considered buying it, but it would have to been transported to my home in Connecticut. also, where would i find a deck lid. Well, I passed on it, and I understand that the fellow that bought it still has it, but it is not for sale. Knowing what I know now, there are several shops that could have made the deck lid. That is life, would have, could have, should have.
