Default 1935-'36 Side Window Regulator Question

Sponsored Links (Register now to hide all advertisements)
I believe the trouble I'm having in installingthe door window glass in my '36 coupe, is that the springs placing tension on the guide pins on the two arms of the regulators, are too strong to allow the window channel to slide on the guide pins and allow the channel to follow the widow raise/lower guide.

The springs on the guide pins now are conical and appear to be the same springs used on the door window crank and just look like they are incorrect. I also have good reason to believe someone has attempted to replace the springs, sometime in the past I have looked through the archives, but haven't found anything that addresses this question, nor can I find any venors which carry these specific springs.

Can anyone, please, tell me what the dimensions of the proper springs (top & bottom spring diameters, spring wire thickness, and number of coils) are ?

Thanks very much,
-Bob
