Polishing aluminum
What is the best method for polishing an aluminum casting such as an alloy of aluminum and nickel ? Thank you Fodbarners.

I've used this site for info and product for polishing Chevy valve covers and many parts on my XS650 motorcycle.

You can use Boname powder with a little water and it will not scratch the soft metal, but it takes lots of elbow grease. Al

Semichrome is great stuff just for everyday polishing of chrome. Better than other chrome polishes.

Hi,
Simichrome is good for maintenance but not the best approach for the whole process. I actually made my own "maintenance liquid", a combo of ground up rouge bars and paint thinner. Truck stop detailers use this and is how I found out about it. Here is my bike before and after. I did everything on the bike with many hours of polishing the motor parts, fins, wheels, forks etc. |
