Ken CT. Play around with this post. You can answer and as long as somebody adds to it it will go to the top. You can also delete or correct your spelling etc. Try answering back and check it out.

Merc, I am old tired and half blind and type with two fingers and if I can figure it out you all can. You'll really like this and you will see how easy it is after you get the hang. Notice how this topic keeps going to the top as I reply??....

I just sent Ken a PM but he is trying to open it but I think doesn't know how to reply. Wish we could have a class on it. I use HAMB all the time so it's pretty easy for me.

Bill, Click on your name. Then click on statistics. Then "profile". When that comes up click "all post made by Bill" Try that.

another way is to click on user CP in the upper left...that will show the more recent threads you posted in. From there, there's an option to see all the threads posted in by clicking on view all subscribed threads. Threads you didn't post in, you can still subscribe to them as well.
I usually just click on new posts every couple minutes.

Sure, all pages have a search block at the top of the page. You can search the entire Fordbarn or only this thread. Go to the Early Ford V8 page and tlook at the top for the search. Click on it and type in a subject. Probably not much in there just yet.....

Ryan has put up some user-friendly & easy to read tutorials that cover the basics here:

http://69.61.21.195/are-ya-lost

But there's also a FAQ up near the top in the black navigation bar towards the right - there's excruciatingly detailed and somewhat technical explanations of most everything on the board by subject.

Two things missing from the old barn that I'm missing. New SUBJECT used to go on top. I don't care for this thing of having new POSTS cycle the subject to the top. And, the second thing, We used to be able to scan the posts, and see WHO posted responses, and quickly determine if we had any interest in reading further. I don't think we can do this here (or, I haven't figured it out)
On the plus side, there is a LOT to like here. Overall, it's been good, so far. Just wish I could pick up on the two things mentioned.
I suppose I could be acused of 'discrimination', as I tended to know my interest in any given subject, based on my scan of who posted responses.
Never did like the hamb, still don't. Too much extraneous stuff & comments that don't relate to any of my interests. I've tried to sign on a few times, but for some reason I seem to be 'locked-out' of the hamb. I keep getting responses that my name is 'already in use'. I assume that's true, as I 'registered' years ago, but long-ago forgot or lost my password. Never been able to get 'back-in', since.
At any rate, I like it here, so far. Just wish, if this were a 'voting matter', that the two things mentioned could be addressed.

You can set your viewing mode to list threads by thread start date instead of last post date by changing the "Sorted By" setting on the forum listing page. See the image I've attached below for the location of this setting.

Click on the drop down menu (blue circle) and select "Thread Start Time". Then, click on the "Show Threads" button (green circle) to put the change in effect.

Unfortunately, that ability is not present in this forum template. Eliminating that format is one way to keep the thread listing short and uncluttered. You can, however, make each individual thread be presented in a fashion similar to the old formate once you open the thread. That setting can be set permanently in the "Thread Display Mode" section of the "Edit Options" page in your user control panel. You can also change it on an individual thread basis under "Display Modes" in the red bar near the top of each thread page.
