Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
The windshield side glass and that part of the front area look like the Bender bodys on the 314 Whites, of 1931.

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
A few more passenger cars in commercial, non-police, applications.
First, during the summer of 1931 (but after July 9), here's a Coupe with Ohio "City Car" plates and an undecipherable logo on the door on an inspection job at an industrial site. I suppose that the off-center bumper clamp and plate were close enough for government work. Also, check out the cable and padlock spare tire lock on the '30 Tudor. Meanwhile, in Seattle, another municipal government Coupe looks a little the worse for wear. Considering the damaged front suspension, the bent passenger's side windshield post and door pillar, and the shattered window, we can only assume that the other side of the car looks pretty bad. Wish we had a picture of that side. Pity, too; the paint looks so fresh! |

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
Now that we've added police vehicles, here's a customized Police Patrol unit in use by the Shanghai Police in 1931. (I know it's not a '31, but that's when the photo was taken. Check out the drop-down armored windshield cover!)Wonder if they had problems with Chinese parts?

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
This was tucked away in the 50's soon after the post office sold it. The owner died before he got to use it and the kids cleaned house and sold it to me a few years ago. It is still in my area. Rainmaker Ron |

Compare the milk truck cab in Post 119 (especially the flat panel below the seat) with this one:

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
the vintage pic of a dairy truck is clearly at least the same body builder as the barn find, if not the same dairy. Great photo. Thanks.
