Re: UnStuck Block/Full Flow
You could "clay" it for clearance like people check clearance on piston tops. don't forget to take into account crankshaft endfloat and allow for some wear over time, especially as clutch loads will be pushing the crank forward.
Tap the pipe thread deeper by a turn, possibly file or turn the fitting down a few thou, do everything you can to gain some extra clearance. You are going to use a fresh, straight fitting, aren't you? You could have a few thou skimmed off the back of the flywheel too. One thought - you don't have a 8BA/59A flywheel mismatch situation going on, do you?? Not sure if it would cause this problem, but worth asking. Mart. |

Re: UnStuck Block/Full Flow
Yes, I'll be using a new fitting, as the old one is broken. Not sure if the flywheel came out of the 221 or the 8BA, just used the one that had teeth. Like the idea of guide coat/clay. I think the problem was caused more by the fitting not being seated far enough, more than a flywheel mismatch, but definitely something to watch. Thanks again.
