Model a engine with a model b transmission
Will a model a engine bolt up to a model b transmission?

Re: Model a engine with a model b transmission
You need the Model B oil pan and bellhousing. The oil pan will need modification to fit
the Model A rear main. Are you putting it in a Model A or a Model B chassis? If its in a Model A you need ways to mount the clutch and brake pedals and a way to mount the front radius rod. |

Re: Model a engine with a model b transmission
I’m trying to decide the best route to race my roadster. I currently have a model b engine and transmission. But I want to install a Thomas 8.25 head and dual downdraft carburetors. I’m trying to figure out if conventional bearings are available for the model b engine, if not I will use the Burtz model an engine to make it work.

Use the Burtz engine, a lot less trouble for what you are after.

Re: Model a engine with a model b transmission
Have a real good look at that B motor. Most of the came out those truck you are playing
with and run real hard. They end up with cracks in the exaust seats and in the deck. Plus you have to look for freeze cracks like you would with any of them. All in I have two buildable B blocks I could have used, but after looking at the B motors and the Burtz Block kit I went with Burtz. Get the Block kit, the cam and the flywheel. |

You can use a Clings adapter to put a v8 trans and pedals on the A engine.

It only has 119.5 cubic inches It doesn't look like a Model A or B engine if that is important I have never seen any speed or dressup equipment for it Charlie Stephens |
