Default 4 banger engine serial number?

I'm working on my 1932, 4 banger and have been trying to get info on the engine serial number with not much luck. Been through a bunch of searches with no hits. The serial number starts with a star on the left then B5 I, 42336 and ends with a star. Any help would greatly be appreciated, thanks in advance.

If the number was *B5142336* (* = star) the engine/transmission would have passed final inspection in July 1932 (ref "The Early Ford V8 As Henry Built It", pg 32). The only thing is the engines were not numbered from the factory. The number was stamped into the top of the flywheel housing. I can't tell for sure where your picture was taken (move the camera back a little).

Looks to me like the number is where it belongs (on the flywheel housing), judging from the transmission bolts in the upper part of the photo and the snubber attachment boss on the left side of the photo.
