Default harmon&collins dual coil distributor

I have a new H&C dual coil distributor that I want to use, I ran one in the past with external resistors . generator was converted to 12 volts using external resistors. Should I use coils with built in resistors? Just for simplicity. Also the new distributor was built in the 50s are the condensers still good? Stan

As for the condensers, have them tested to be sure. Many go bad from age.

If the condensers turn out to be bad, I make replacements that have proven to be very reliable and stable under all conditions.
