Re: The Can-Am Model A Reliability Run;Mt. Baker A-scent
Also with it being 150 years of Canada..you think Canadians would be more competitive? Maybe if I told them Anne Murray was going to be at the top..handing out Tim Hortons..we'd get more?

Re: The Can-Am Model A Reliability Run;Mt. Baker A-scent
41 model A Fords made it up to Artist Point on Mt. Baker. There were a few cars that met us at the start but they did not go for ascent. As far as I know, no one had any mechanical difficulties.

Re: The Can-Am Model A Reliability Run;Mt. Baker A-scent
An A+ day on the mountain!
I have to admit I was somewhat of a doubter when Benny told us there would be 40 Model As from 2 states and 2 countries at our A-scent of Mt Baker, but when we came around the corner on Mt Baker highway and the starting point came into view, there was no doubt... I counted 50 cars in the staging area for the start of the tour, but 9 had come for the "car show" provided by the tourers (and it was a great one) and opted not to take the challenge of sea level to 5,000' in about 45 miles. All 41 cars that started made it to the top without incident... Lots more photos and videos here... https://www.flickr.com/photos/996911...h/36302499652/ It was a beautiful day in spite of the lingering smoke from the BC fires. Hopefully other Barners that were on the tour can post their photos and videos also.

Re: The Can-Am Model A Reliability Run;Mt. Baker A-scent
All I can say is Thank you! Thanks to all who came out and participated and helped out when needed! Thanks to Dick,Art and Larry! A club President could not have a better crew! This was a long time in the making! We got a lot of Model A's together so they can be seen! Hopefully with that we can all inspire the next generation. That is what did it for me. When I was younger I would see a Model A convoy and I thought that was the best thing ever and when I got older I had to get involved! Thank you! Thank you, Thank you! Benny (President /Editor) Moon On A.

Re: The Can-Am Model A Reliability Run;Mt. Baker A-scent
It was worth staying up until midnight the night before to get my oil pan back on so we could attend the "A"-scent! I'd never seen so many Model As in one place with my own eyes. I thought there were a lot when I got the meet up point before 9, and then another 25 Model As showed up!
Unfortunately we got stuck behind a DOT truck painting the centerline southbound on SR9 so it took a loooong time to get home. ~230 miles round trip for us.

Re: The Can-Am Model A Reliability Run;Mt. Baker A-scent
We got caught up in DOT white line painting also. Then made it to Edmonds for the ferry to Kingston, we had an hour wait for a ferry. We did not get home, Port Orchard, until 8:30 pm, the mileage from Artist Point to Port Orchard was approximately 168 Miles.

Re: The Can-Am Model A Reliability Run;Mt. Baker A-scent
We enjoyed the "A sent" up Mt Baker and also having a pleasant lunch on the snow fields. In the snow field, we picked a warm and dry rock to sit on for lunch. After lunch we visited Nooksack Falls and also enjoyed visiting its rich history of its evolution from being an electrical power station in 1890 to being just a tourist destination in 2017. After Nooksack Falls, it was ice cream cones on Highway 9 at Acme. I found that a triple scoop cone was too much ice cream for me and my wife Merrily. Dog Cola helped finish it. Doing all of this, we were still home in Sedro-Woolley before 2 PM and from my above posting, I was posting on line by 2:46 PM. First photo was taken at Artist point. Second photo was taken at the parking lot at Nooksack Falls. Thank you Moon On A's President Benny. You are making America Great Again!

Re: The Can-Am Model A Reliability Run;Mt. Baker A-scent
Glad, you'll had a good time and made it home safe! Now next year we got our work cut out for us! The Canadians think they can out do us on their soil? Which I don't think is possible because I don't think there are any mountains IN Canada? Benny
