no hole water pump housing,
Did any of the castings not have a hole in them ??have one with 3/8" which I believe is early but can not find in standards referral too no hole ?not even under early section , But then my standards are old , Bet someone here can advise ,

3 pumps used during production-early 28 small round hole, mid 28 to end production larger oval shaped hole. per JS.

I have one with no grease fittings but it has a large hole and was used mainly in 29.

Left to right-early 28- small hole;center large oval mid 28 to end;no hole different shape grease fitting on side with screwed on cover?

I read the guidelines as all housings had the hole; small hole, early to late '28 had the small hole, late 28 to end had the large hole.
The was also a pump used during the period from April '29 to April '30 that had no front grease fittings and a bushing instead of a bearing in the front but still had a hole. That is how I read it but it is not crystal clear.

Mike thanks , that's the way I read it too , however had a customer asking for one with no hole , He has written many books on the Model A so assumed he knew something I was unaware of , hence the question, Always keen to learn .
