Default 1936 V8 Deluxe.

I have a 1936 V8 with a 1939 engine. I am looking for the Chassis number and the engine number on the car.

Where do I find them?

Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks, Chris

As far as I know, the frame is stamped on top and near the steering box(US cars). The Bell housing is stamped towards the top on a flat surface. If the frame and bell housing are original, they should match the title.

For clarification of the previous posts, there are bell housings on both the engine and the transmission, the aerial number appearing on the transmission bell. There is no engine number. If the transmission has been replaced, the serial number at that location will not match your title, but your frame number should match.

There is no "engine number" just the serial number stamped on the frame. Some of the unique models like 3-W and all the open cars also had a body number. The body was assembled by other companies and shipped to Ford where the body was dropped onto a frame with a serial number. Body tag would be on the firewall, engine side.
