Anyone else use rims for blocks?
I've been using rims for blocks for years, nice and stable, don't have to worry about a vehicle rolling off of them, they give more room than axle stands when working under a vehicle. Sometimes I double stack them for more height, a 15" on the bottom and a 14" on top, they nest together very well. Very stable.

Looks like a good idea. Do you use them for long-term storage? Do the rim edges affect the tires?

Yep, most yards use them, but I can't understand why French Lake removes the wheels and sets the cars directly on the ground, making the bottom parts all but impossible to remove, as well as rusting out all the lower parts on the antique cars.

Re: Anyone else use rims for blocks?
I think the way Katy uses them with a 14" rim set inside a 15" rim is a lot safer than the junkyard method of putting one upright inside another. With Katy's method they are not likely to shift or move but the junkyard method could tip to the side.
