Default 1948 Ford Business Coupe

Ford Folks,
John (1942deluxe, on the Ford Barn) and I had breakfast then stopped to look at his new project for his nice 48 Business Coupe.
There is a thread on the barn about replacing the rear spring on a similar car.
John's 48 has a broken rear spring and he is gathering the parts and information on changing this out.
Some pictures:

This is a new old stock spring he just recieved:

John has most of the hardware, including a pair of new "U" bolts and the shackles. His 42 (Cindy) in the background:

Not a great picture of the stamped part number:

I believe this has an additional leaf:

We will try to get some pictures of the spring change out at some point.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Has anyone recently replaced a rear spring on a 42-48 Ford and can describe the process? I'm debating on if this is something Chris and I can tackle safely in the spring(no pun intended). There is a spring shop about 25 miles from us that does antique cars and has been in business over 100 years that I think could do the job.
