The radial tubes have seams that spiral around the tube. Standard tubes have seams that intersect at 90 degrees, running the full diameter and cross sections. Hmmm....At what speed does this make a difference? I would like to know too.

I would not use a bias tire tube with a radial tire. radial tubes are made of thicker, tougher material to help with the flexing that occurs with a radial tire. a bias tire tube will most likely fail due to the radial tire flexing and "rubbing" the tube against the inside of the radial tire

Good information gang . . . I never pondered the differences between bias and radial tubes.

X2 on post 3. On a trip with a Model A equipped with 21" radials and bias ply tubes. Three flats in just over 100 miles.. Tubes with abrasive holes caused by rubbing.

I use tractor tubes- very heavy wall construction and I've had no issues in thousands of miles.

There's some good info on this topic posted by Don on 7/4/22. As Brian notes above, Don's solution was also tractor tubes.

The lesson for me was that you don't every use bias tubes in radial tires!
