Default Cowl vent drain

Can anyone tell me where the cowl vent drain tube routes in a '36 phaeton?

I have a nice new tube hooked to the drain fitting, but can't find a reasonable place for it to exit the cockpit.

There is a hole in the firewall between the choke and throttle rods that the hose goes through. Normally ends about 2" into the engine compartment. I extended my hose down along the engine to allow water to drain off the firewall.

In my car that hole is used by the wiper vacuum hose. Is that same hole supposed to pass the cowl drain? Doesn't look big enough for two lines and a grommet.

Thanks,

John

The wiper vacuum hose passes through the hole of the wiring loom along with the temp gauge line.

John-

The wiper hose is routed wrong. It should go through the main wire loom hole. Note picture.

Ahh, many thanks. So here it is with the vacuum line rerouted and the vent drain in place, running down alongside the transmission. I had to carve out the middle of the grommet for the hose.

Note the chromed vacuum line in the middle of the picture. The persons doing the rebuild in the mid-70s apparently had a complete aircraft fab shop available.

Thanks again, Tom,

John
