39 couple electric question
Hi Guys
My passenger headlight is out. I pulled the connections by the headlight. My test light lights (seems dim but lights). So I'm thinking the issue is with the wiring to the bulb. I tried other new bulbs and nothing works. I tried pulling the bucket out but it seems like I would need to cut all the connections in order to pull it out. Am I on the right track? Or is there something else I should try before cutting the existing wiring. Last question, can the bucket be removed from the wiring?

Your loom should have connectors near the radiator to in plug the wiring for that fender. Before you do that, run a wire from the batteries positive terminal to the headlight bucket. Then check your voltage. if not good, start checking voltage from battery to switch to dimmer switch to bucket connection to headlight socket. You get the picture. A little loss on each will cause weak lights. this is for 6 volt positive ground. Bruce

Thanks. The connections near the radiator is where I pulled the connection apart to check with test light. I removed the dimmer a long time ago. I like your suggestion about wiring from the battery, to check voltage. It's still pos grd - But for this purpose, I do as you suggested and use the positive terminal.
