1936 starter switch
I need help with wiring my starter switch. If I'm sitting in the car, which stud on the starter switch do I put the starter cable, the one by my right foot or the stud by my left foot? The 35-36 book has me confused. I really think the switch was wired backwards when I took it off to clean.
Thanks, Charles |

Re: 1936 starter switch
On mine the wire to starter is on your right foot. I dont think it makes any diff cause the switch justs acts like a jumper between the two wires. The important thing here is tight connections & good (positive) ground.

Re: 1936 starter switch
O.K. After studing the Van Pelt diagram and going back to the 35-36 book, I,m going to put the starter cable on the right foot side and the battery cable and ammeter and horn wire on the left foot side. I agree that it doesn't matter which side as long as the starter cable is by itself on one stud. This set up was reversed when I started to work on the swith and I just wanted to get it right. Thanks Ken and Mike for your help. Regards,
