When I was flushing the rusty vinegar treatment from my Model A, I started and reved the motor to see if the drain valve would quit flowing and start sucking air, and it did.

Even after your radiator seeks it's "happy" level from volume expansion, some water splashes out the overflow due to turbulance. Just drop a stainless or brass large head nail into the overflow tube to prevent this. NO it WON"T pressurize the system as the nail does a little "happy dance" from engine vibrations. WORKED for me! Look at the water flow in radiator when you rev it up, it churns through at 900 MPH! Nail trick is an ooooold PROVEN cure for water loss, Claude said so! Bill W.

Roland. That makes sense. Depending on how much vacuum is being created, it could definitely drop the boiling point considerably. My old model T had an original aftermarket water pump on it. I think it generated about as much flow as stirring a paint can with a matchstick.
