brake switch
I put an aftermarket brake switch on the 30 roadster. The problem is that the shaft has to be almost completely depressed into the switch housing before the circuit will open. The brake rod plunger can be all the way against the crossmember and the circuit wont open. Is it possible that the switch is bad?

Re: brake switch
Don't know about the repos. Do you have the original ? They are very simple and can usually be taken apart and fixed. I'm thinking the repo can be also.

Re: brake switch
For what it is worth A&L sells the best repro brake light switch.

Re: brake switch
My repro on my 29 you can adjust it back and forth on the tranny. Don't know if this would help. Another thing are your brakes adjusted correctly? Like the shaft from the peddle to the cross shaft? This may cause your problem.

Re: brake switch
I think the brakes are correct. The switch on a 28-29 I believe is different from a 30-31. The plunger on the switch has to be exactly flush with the switch housing in order to work. The other switches I've installed in the past weren't that way.

Re: brake switch
When I adjusted my brakes for the first time on my 30 coupe, my brake light would not come on. I added some washers to shift the switch over and it works well now. It was an easy cheap fix.
