Default cotter pins

looking to get cotter pins for my car ...a few here and there. what metal are they to be made of according to judging ? thanks

Originally unfinished however stainless or cad has been accepted. For the picky person, the shape of the pins that are commercially available today do not mimic the original pin shape.

I know that some of the sizes are not commonly available (especially the 5/8" lengths), but is there a picture of what the originals looked like?

i do have a lot to replace...it would be nice if someone sold a whole set,with a diagram of where they all went . then i would just do them all.
