Question Radiator cap

I know this must seem pretty dumb, but how do I remove the radiator cap on my 1929 Truck? After turning it off the threads, it still wont come out. Am I missing something here?

If it is a stock style cap just unscrewing it should work.

Lightbulb Re: Radiator cap

I had a repop cap once on my '29 that wouldn't come off. The threaded inner liner became loose from the cap body and all it would do was spin. It was a while ago, but I believe I used a large set of channel lock pliers on the outer cap. Which caused it to put pressure on the inner liner and grip it. So that I could slowly unscrew the whole assembly.

Mine acts that way sometimes. The rubber gasket gets stuck to the top of the radiator and the cap doesn't want to screw off. Mine eventually comes off if I pull up on the cap whild turning it with my hand. I hope your problem is that simple.
