electronic flasher question
hi i am trying to find a flasher that will work for my 6v positive ground and led lights . Can't seem to find one in Canada but have found some in the USA but they dont ship here. I had two ordered from different sights but they don't work. Could someone tell me what actually works and where to get one?? Thanks

Re: electronic flasher question
We have the same problem with vendors not sending parts to Australia. IMO, they are making themselves irrelevant here but try this. I'm assuming they will send to Canada.

Re: electronic flasher question
Just add one load resistor to each side and your standard thermal flasher will work. T- tap and run to ground. You can get a pack of 4 for under $15 from amazon.ca. That's what worked for me.

Re: electronic flasher question
Different flashers have different pinouts so keep that in mind when plugging it in. You may have to build a different harness.

I got my electronic flasher from LEDlight.com. Their stock number is 84787. I don't know if they ship to Canada. Mike |

Re: electronic flasher question
X2 for post #4. If you are using LEDs for turn signals, you have to have load resistors for the thermal flasher to work. 2 ohms, 20 watt should do the trick.

Re: electronic flasher question
Me too. The above Snyder's unit worked perfectly for my 6V Pos. ground system. Although I'm in Ohio. In hindsight if you'd spent the money for 2 wrong flashers plus shipping....you could have a working one from a long time Model A vendor. Just sayin.

Re: electronic flasher question
Deny, Look at the pins (blades) on the bottom of the flasher. They have three letters by them that stand for different parts of the circuit. A replacement flasher must have the letters on the pins the same. Some manufacturers used different letters for the different parts of the circuit so you will have to check online. If the pins are in different places on the flasher you can change the wiring on the harness to make them work. If electronic flashers are hooked up wrong they can burn out immediately and become useless.
Usually + or B will go to the positive side of a battery. L will go to the lamp through the switch. P is for the indicator light on the switch. I say usually because if you bought a flasher for a positive grounded battery then it could be different. Point is that the pins can be in different locations and if an electronic flasher is hooked up wrong, it can be trash. Another problem with electronic flashers is that too much current can burn them out pronto. Check the rating of the flasher and measure or calculate the current that your bulbs will take. I = W/V I have not had very good luck with electronic flashers and have just added resistors for the vehicles I have changed to LEDs.

Re: electronic flasher question
My car is 6V Positive ground and I use flasher control from Ledlight.com and works great.
62497 is what I used but they have several options. 62497 is under $6.00 https://www.ledlight.com/6v-positive...d-flasher.aspx |
