Headliner parts missing...
question about headliner brackets. I am almost ready to start installing the headliner in my '39 Deluxe Tudor sedan. When I got the car several years ago the interior was stripped. I have the correct set of bows now (I think) and also the two (approx 32") "tack?" strips above the doors. Are there any other pieces needed that might be missing (front, back)? I have all of the garnish moldings. There are two more screw holes behind the tack strip. Is there a piece that goes here and if so, how long is it and where else does it attach? Thanks for help and thanks to one of the members of this page (Mark) who helped me get the bows and tack strips. I just need to know if I need anything else before proceeding.

Do you have the 2 filler pieces that fit on the A pillar between the front door windlace and the windshield on the A pillar? They are metal and covered with headliner cloth. The windshield garnish molding fits over them. I mention this as they are easy to forget.

Re: Headliner parts missing...
thank you for that info. No, I had no knowledge of them. I will post an ad in the wanted section of the Swap Meet section. Maybe someone reading this will know of a pair available.
Thanks again (and for the photo) Capt.Rob |

Re: Headliner parts missing...
If the tudor is like the coupe there are two wire bows that go from the rear window to the side of the body. One for each side. Just for info don't forget to replace all the tack strips. The old stuff that is in there now won't hold the tacks or staples. Buy now it has become very brittle. I also put my windlace in with pop rivets from the cowl panel area up over the doors and back to the door jamb. the windlace will never come loose.
