Default Cowl- Hood Seal

As I continue to get the engine compartment of my '51 Tudor ready for sticking an engine in I come to installing the cowl-hood seal. No big deal I know, but I'd like to work as "smart" as possible. Wondering what approach you guys might take? The dash is out so I have good access to the little original nail holes, could have rubber taped in location and have someone (wife) hold down with small piece of wood and drill from inside, then secure with small screw from top and proceed. Should I start in center and move outward? Instead, should I just use trim adhesive as I have on door & trunk weather strip? Thanks and Merry Christmas!

On a task such as this, i always start from the center and work to the left & right ends.
I can't imagaine why simply applying adhesive properly (i prefer 3m black weatherstrip adhesive) would not work quite well.

I'm leaning that way myself Mike. Thinking I could mask on either side of where the rubber goes, starting at center glue down about 8" in each direction, weight down and let set overnight. Finish the remaining sides knowing the middle is securely set. Thanks.

You could secure the rubber with super glue. Then drill and use the screws. I use brush on super glue.
