Default 1934 ford pickup -noises while decelerating

Flathead with 3-speed, closed driveshaft. I can shift through all gears with no noise but when I let off the gas (in gear) and let the engine pull the rpm's down , it sounds like a slapping noise. I thought it was the mechanical brake rods hitting, but it wasn't'. Any thoughts?😏

could it be your starter gear hitting the fly wheel?
