Re: alternator wiring
Are you getting a 3 wire or single wire alternator? On the single wire alternator, just connect the wires that were attached to the output of the cutout to the single output of the alternator. If it is a 3 wire alternator, send me an email to [email protected] and I will send you schematic. On the 3 wire you either have to have a fuse which you must remove when you park if for a long time or a complete cutout switch as the alternator will draw just a small amount of current even when the vehicle is turned off.

Re: alternator wiring
Hey Steve , I am in process of doing same job, question for you ? what diameter of pulley are you using? I assume you are using a 12 volt GM.

Re: alternator wiring
Hey Dick , just curious, if a fella just wired in a small 12 volt bulb between terminal 1 and battery connection on alternator . sort of hide it under alternator or whatever do you think this would do the trick from your experience ?

"I have always done this using the DIODE. A 12 volt (or higher) 1 amp diode works with "normal" 10si - a HIGH output alt will require a higher amperage rating - jump to a 5 amp in that case.
