34 Ford Front Brakes
O.K my drivers side front brake housing assembly came apart beautifully and the operating pin slid out downwards with no problems. Now I cannot seem to remove the front brake operating pin from the passenger side is there a special trick that I'm missing here? I've tried pulling it downward, unscrewing it, wiggling it and next I was going to beat on it but I knew that was not the answer although I felt like it. So what am I doing wrong???? |

Re: 34 Ford Front Brakes
You mean the actuating rod inside the king pin/spindle pin is preventing you from removing the backing plate from the stub axle/spindle? If so, disconnect brake rod actuator from the axle mounting & remove it from the kingpin/spindle pin & try again. |

Re: 34 Ford Front Brakes
Brian, that is exactly what I mean and I will try it tonight. But why did I not have to disconnect the brake rod actuator on the drivers side for the actuating rod inside the king pin just slid nicely out and when I reassembled the brakes they functioned just fine. |

You were'nt holding your tongue right! Possibly the adjuster was backed off further or the rod adjustment was looser? Brian NZ |
