Default Rattling spark arrestor?

Now that things are running well (I'll probably break down on the way home today, having typed that ) I'm working on eliminating rattles.

I have a fairly loud "buzz" that seems to be coming from the spark arrestor (the screen "tube" that goes into the gas filler), though I'm not 100% sure. I've eliminated the cowl band, hood, and instrument panel as sources, so that's my next guess. Anyone else had a similar problem and been able to fix it? I guess there's no real harm in just pulling it and seeing if it goes away, but as a longer term solution, I'd like to find a way to eliminate the noise without eliminating the arrestor.

If it is the threaded type, be sure it is tight. Use big pliers full open to bind on the inside of the sieve to pull it out. If yours is the flange type study the flange to see if it is formed correctly. Sometimes I think the gas gauge arm is hitting the arrestor, but I can't be sure.

Try the radiator stay rods where the attach to the firewall. A loose connection there will travel through the whole car. Just a thought. It happened to me once.

Could also be a loose baffle inside the gas tank. I would remove strainer first to see it noise goes away.

The baffles in 28-29 are different from 30-31.

Sometimes you can hit the tank with a large rubber hammer and listen where the noise comes from to help locate the source while referencing the pictures.
