Default Voltage regulator

Where did the original voltage regulator mount? Firewall or inner fender panel on a 56 Fairlane V8?
Thanks
Jim

On a '55, it mounted on the core support panel just to the left (driver's seat looking forward) of the radiator inside the engine compartment. If the '56 is the same, and I think it is, there will be three holes in the panel for the mounting screws.

Correct, it is mounted on that spot on a 56. Left of the radiator if youre in the drivers seat.
I can take a pic of it if you like.
