Just make sure the set has a return spring ( steel) and a contact strap (brass) and you got the good set. Rubbing block will be brown ( not white plastic)...Use high temp (mobil one) grease on the back side of rubbing block..........

I told my napa guy the story the other day and he said Jim "you are the only guy buying this stuff from here " I said but i buy a ton of them , he looked in the computer and we have bought a few hundred sets over a period of time..........

Bubba, Does the CS 786 Echlin fit the stock helmet distributor too? What are the advantages of the Delco single point distributor over the helmet?

Nope the CS47 fits the later helmets , a dual point . These are two different animals , a helmet is a helmet front bell mount and the single point is a upright unit in either the loadamatic ford or the chevy conversion......l

So what year is a "later helmet?" I have a 40, early or late?? Why would anyone want a Chevy conversion?

When Bubba says later helmets he means late 36 and 37-41 (although 37-41 utilized three different advance variations with 11A being the preferred)
