Default old problem cured created a new one

30 pickup... a while back I was on here about my cross shaft dragging on the drive line and restricting the brakes. new motor mount up front replacing the rotted out rubber mount, welded up the rear mounts and put in new rubber pads and spacer tubes. the motor sits up great now and the cross shaft has plenty of clearance. now the manual throttle mechanism is hitting the fire wall with the engine sitting higher. I know the cab was off the frame some time in history. is it possible the cab is sitting too low or maybe a bit forward of where it should be? maybe some measurements would help.

I will try to get a picture tomorrow. I had the whole throttle shaft off... cleaned it up and painted it. I noticed a bow in the shaft that goes from the left to the right side of the engine started to straighten it but it looks like it is supposed to have a bow. may not be back exactly right.

The shaft between the two supports should be straight in that area, but the two supports should curve forward, towards the engine block.

the throttle assembly can get bent when the motor is removed or reinstalled.
Bend cold to realign.

I think I have solved my problem. at one time the cab has been off the frame then just set back on and a few bolts stuck through the holes. it can't possibly have the proper spacing with the wood blocks. this was done some 30+ years ago. I lifted up the left front corner of the cab a bit and the v shaped hand throttle piece clears. I had bead blasted the throttle assembly before painting, but neglected to take off the v shaped part and clean lt and the little shaft it turns on. freeing up that made a big difference. I will use the proper blocks on final assembly.
