8ba camshaft I.D.
I have a never been run camshaft with the markings stamped on the end C8RT? It appears to be a regrind. Need help identifying it. Thanks John

I suspect it's a Canadian 49-51 Mercury (Ford) truck camshaft. 8RT is a truck marking.

I concur. And, IF it's a re-grind as you suspect. the only way to determine what it actually is is to degree it.

Yes, it would be interesting to know what the new "grind" is all about.
Can you check it out? Is there an easy way to check it (on the workbench) with a dial indicator or micrometer? I would like to check one out also. |

All you can do on a bench is measure the lobe life with calipers or a micrometer. To check duration and open/close events you would have to do it in the block and use a degree wheel.

Just check base circle diameter, that will be a good indication if it has been reground
