Default 1939 ford parking brake

Was the parking brake on the 1939 Deluxe 2 door sedan standard equipment or an extra? Jon L.

Standard as far as I know. It was on all previous Fords.

I have one but need parts that are hard to find and expensive. Since it was "standard" I will proceed to get them fixed. Jon L.

Hi Jon,
Please let us know what you need to correct your brake problems as these are essential to operation (you can't go if you can't stop). I have saved all kinds of 39 parts having restored a 39 Woodie and a pickup truck. Put it out there and the members here will try to help you come up with the correct parts to fix your problem. Or if you don't want a major discussion send personal messages to some of us and see if we can help that way. Toby

I may need a rear drum and a loaded backing plate. Drivers side. Let me know what you have. Thanks: Jon Laing
