Default Windshield Wiper

I have a NOS Trico wiper motor along with a new original style arm and blade on my 31 Roadster. The motor works well after a little sewing machine oil was applied through the vacuum inlet. However, even though the wiper arm seems to apply good pressure, the blade just seems to glide over the glass and doesn't really clear the water off. Is this typical of this type of blade or do I have an issue?

Maybe bend the arm a little to put more pressure on the blade?

Use RainX and when the wiper doesn’t work, you’ll still be Ok.

I am not a purist, so I like my electric wiper.
