Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour
Wow, way back in '96 or '97 (CRS strikes again) I launched a web site, www.FordFlatheads.net. I closed the web site down (at least I thought I did) a while ago... I got an email mentioning it today so, I thought I see if it is still out there in cyber space and... Sure enough, it is, and it still has a link to the FordBarn on it...

Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour
It was just Don and me playing in the garage today... We topped off the master cylinder, bled the brakes, changed the oil & filter, installed the rear interior quarter panels and cleaned and installed the rear seat (the car still has all the original upholstery, and its in excellent shape ) in his '50 Rag Top... And, it was time for PIZZA...
The sun is out, and it 85 degrees... Time to do some topless cruisin...

Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour
I thought I'd share this, with those of you that might be interested. The Cigar City Flatheads are expanding our efforts to bring the joy of Flatheads, and automotive endeavors in general, to a new level. We are planning to produce additional videos, to expand, and compliment, the Vic's V8 Video's series. We have secured an additional domain name; CigarCityMotorheads.com, and we'll be marketing, promoting and initially distributing the videos, on various social media web sites. For more information on the project, please PM me.

Not initially however, it could be. I'll have to see how things come together.

Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour
This past Friday, Mike and I took a topless cruise in the '39 LZ, down to Long Boat Key, just about 100 miles from my house. We went to check out a '48 Merc Convertible whose owner said the engine had developed a knock and he was looking for someone that could fix it. The Merc is a beauty but is does have a lower end knock... So, he'll be trailering it up to my garage next Saturday, so we can drop the pan and have a look. The Zephyr did well, except for a few hiccups with fuel delivery. Before we crossed the Sky Way Bridge, we pulled into a rest area where I check the tightness of the nuts on the back of the ignition switch, sure enough, the nut on the Hot side had vibrated loose and the electrical connection (for the fuel pump) was intermittent. I snugged the nut and off we went, no more problems. It was a beautiful day in the Bay Area, low humidity with not a cloud in the sky and temps in the mid 80's. More Flathead Fun in the Florida Sun. I posted a few photos of the fun on the Cigar City Flatheads pages on FaceBook. If you are interested, take a look and like us over there. You can also join, we'd love to have you.

Just a quick note to let those of you who have been ordering Cigar City Flatheads decals and various DVD's from Vic's V8 Videos, I have been lax with keeping up with the orders however, I'm back at it, and all the orders received over the last two weeks will be going out in the mail tomorrow. Once again, thanks for your support of the Cigar City Flatheads and Vic's V8 Videos. Vic

Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour
Yesterday Jerry, a friend of mine from back in High School, came over and we took the '39 LZ for a test drive, after fixing the oil leak. Everything was going well until we stopped at an intersection... A women in the car behind us beeped the horn and was motioning to me to look at the back of the car. I got out and walked to the rear to find that the hanger straps for the resonator and tail pipe had broken, and everything was hanging just above the pavement. We drive back to my garage, put the car up on the lift and in a few minutes, made the necessary repairs, and took another topless cruise... I just love my Flatheads

Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour
I guess that's true Bill, I'm glad it didn't come loose while we were driving over the Tampa Bay Bridge... That would have been another adventure...

Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour
We had BIG FUN in the garage yesterday, our new friend, and fellow Cigar City Flatheads member, Joe, brought his beautiful '48 Mercury Convertible up from Sarasota, (on a trailer). Mike and I had driven the '39 Lincoln Zephyr down to Joe's, two Friday's ago, to check out the Merc, because Joe said a bottom end noise had started... We got the car off the trailer and up on the lift to start the process of removing the oil pan so we could inspect things. In attendance were Mike, Cliff, Keith, Don, Joe and two other guys whose names escape me at the moment (CRS). That brings to mind the question ‘how many Cigar City Flatheads does it take to remove an oil pan…’ If you would like to see a few photos of the action, you can check out the Cigar City Flatheads pages on FaceBook.
