1936 Stainless steel welting
I just got the s.s. welting from Drake. I'm having difficulty bending it around the complex angles without crimping it. Is there a method that works?

Re: 1936 Stainless steel welting
If this is the welting that goes between the fender and horn panel ,they usually come pre bent and are an easy fit.

You will have to notch the flat portion to get it to curve. Careful not to cut too deep. I’ll see if I can find picture.

Re: 1936 Stainless steel welting
Bob Drake part number 68-16035 , Ford and Dennis Carpenter part number 68-16000 , and Macs part number 32-16713-1.
Some call it horn panel trim and others fender trim |

Re: 1936 Stainless steel welting
There are two pieces of stainless welting the goes between the fender and the horn grille panel on each side.
The long straight piece goes in the vertical and the curved piece goes behind the head light and the horn grille panel. I have bought these as before and they have not been a problem, since you do not have to bend them, only deal with the welting mounted in each piece. |
