How do I stop contact points burning out on the Model A distributer?

You must have a bad condenser or wrong coil. Oil on points contacts is also bad, but I've never seen that happen on a Model A.

If you are using a 12 volt battery you will need to use a resistor at the coil to drop the voltage to 6 volts to the distributor.

Make sure your charging voltage is not too high.

12V battery, or high charging voltage, shouldn't hurt the points.

Replace the condensor.

A bad or loose connection at the battery cables will cause a voltage spike and will burn the points . I've had it happen .
