Lesson learned,splash aprons

Well after my body man rant, put the body on(no splash aprons thanks to the body man) now trying to slip them in between the frame and body.no fun. don't try this at home! put the aprons on FIRST!

If you can place it sliding in, How can you put the bolts to hold them? These bolts are underbody I think?
Have you installed the frame welt?

yes we had to mill 2 slots for the 2 ft bolts . tack glued the frame welt down before setting the body good thing or would have had more PROBLEMS.

The other day, after removing all the bolts that hold the body and the front fender in my car I try to pull the fender without success, then try placing shims under the subframe, so I could get it out!

The bodyweight only did I could not get it out!!

Never removed my body (no room to do so) so i had to pull them out and replace them with body lifted half an inch with a bumperjack. Did seems a bit fiddly.

I suppose it sounds intimidating at first but my roadster body has been up in the air more times than a barber's chair, sometimes with the body bolts out of the elevated side, sometimes just loose, and loose on the other side, and jacked up with a plank under a cross sill. I did it most recently to install new running board shields. the carriage bolt at the back end of the shield required very little clearance to install. granted I'm uber-careful where I put my fingers while the body is elevated.

I gave a pair of new splash aprons to a friend of a friend to paint. Went to pick them up only to find they painted the underside high gloss black and stone guarded the top side. I was speachless! They claimed they talked about what side to paint and never thought of looking for a picture or calling to confirm.

well we are now trying to put on the front fenders the support that holds up the fender seems to long any help? its a cast arm this is a late 1930 vicky

Try swaping right and left fender braces and see how they fit. I will say that my November 1930 Victoria has stamped fender braces. Stamped fender braces were first used on Model A's starting in April 1930 so I doubt the forged braces are original to your Victoria.

For someone on their 4th restoration, this one is kickin' your tail!! Did y'all prefit any of the sheetmetal prior to paintwork? I would like to see some pix to see if there is something obvious we can spot.
